Apprenticeship

The Program

What is an Apprenticeship?

Learn by Doing. Get Paid While You Learn.

An apprenticeship is a career-focused training program that combines paid, hands-on work with classroom instruction. Instead of paying for college and hoping to find a job afterward, you'll earn a paycheck from day one while learning the electrical trade alongside experienced journeyman electricians.

At the Quad City Electrical Training Center, you'll spend your days gaining real-world experience on active job sites and attend classes that teach the technical knowledge behind the work. By the time you complete the program, you'll have the skills, experience and confidence to begin a rewarding career as a union electrician.

How Does an Apprenticeship Work?

As an apprentice, you'll work under the guidance of highly skilled electricians who will teach you the trade through real projects. At the same time, you'll attend scheduled classroom instruction to learn electrical theory, safety practices, code requirements and industry best practices.

This combination of work and education helps you develop both the practical skills and technical knowledge employers value most.

Real Experience From Day One

Unlike a traditional classroom education, you'll be working on actual electrical projects throughout your apprenticeship. You'll gain experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems while learning directly from experienced professionals.

Every day brings new opportunities to build your skills and confidence while making a lasting impact on the communities you help power.

Build a Career, Not Just a Job

An apprenticeship is more than training. It's the first step toward a lifelong career.
