Veteran Benefits
Military Veterans
The skills, discipline and work ethic developed through military service make veterans outstanding candidates for a career in the electrical industry. The Quad City Electrical Training Center is proud to support veterans and active-duty service members as they transition into civilian careers through a registered apprenticeship program.
If you're looking for a career that offers hands-on work, strong wages, excellent benefits and long-term opportunities, a union electrical apprenticeship can help you build your next mission.

Use Your GI Bill Benefits
Qualified veterans may be eligible to receive VA education benefits while participating in a registered apprenticeship.
In many cases, eligible apprentices can receive a monthly housing allowance through the GI Bill in addition to their apprentice wages during the early years of the program. These benefits can help ease the transition into civilian employment while you build your career.
Veterans should contact the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to determine eligibility and available education benefits.
Why Veterans Succeed
Military experience provides many of the qualities employers look for in electrical apprentices.
Veterans often bring:
- Strong leadership skills
- Dependability and accountability
- A commitment to safety
- Mechanical aptitude
- Problem-solving abilities
- Teamwork and communication skills
- A strong work ethic
- The ability to perform under pressure
These qualities help veterans excel both in the classroom and on the job.
PROUD PARTNERS
what is an apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship is a hands-on training program where you earn while you learn, building real skills alongside experienced electricians on the job. You’ll combine daytime work in the field with evening classes, gaining the knowledge and experience needed to build your future and make a lasting impact in your community.
